Golden [Aurora - Supia Rosy]

* * *

Notes:  I've been ill again (and have not yet stabilized completely).  But a couple of weeks ago, I was permitted to try my father's new SLR!  I'm normally reasonably self-conscious about taking my ball-jointed dolls out for public photoshoots.  However, given the beauty of the light and the opportunity to use an SLR, I felt the need to take Aurora to slightly more interesting location than my yard or bedroom.

So, I managed to find a bag for Aurora and trudged off to a nearby vacant lot.  At first, I thought the shoot should have perfect privacy, but within a minute or two of my settling down, a garage door opened almost across the street.

"Oh well, they will probably get into their car and drive off without even noticing the crazy doll photographer with a conspicuous, macro-lense-less SLR," I thought.

And then, another car drove by, the occupants of which were evidently acquainted with the owners of the afore mentioned garage, because the two parties proceeded to talk in the middle of the road for at least 15 minutes, while I was about 10 feet away.  It is unfortunately difficult to go unnoticed with a 58 cm doll when one is alone in a vacant lot.

Still, I'm very happy with how these pictures turned out.  I think some of them are my favourite pictures of Aurora since the Dear Ophelia series last year.  I'll be posting some higher quality versions of the horizontal ones on my deviantart account very soon.

Thanks for looking! :0)

Aurora peak

I have taken three sets of doll-related photographs since the last post, but I haven't yet managed to post any of them anywhere.  To try to break the spell of inertia (and to distract myself from missing this year's Uncanny Dreams), I'm posting a single picture of Aurora that I took last week.  Hopefully, there will be lots more to come.
